Pashupatinath is one of the famous Hindu Temples in
the world and is a
prilgrimage site for many people across southern Asia. It
is located in the
banks of Bagmati river and is a cremation site for Hindu
people. This famous
Shiva temple is said to have been built by Lichchhavi
King, Supuspadeva in
465 - 500 AD.
Bouddhanath:
The stupa of
Boudhanath lies eight Kilometers east of Kathmandu. This is a
colossal and an
ancient stupa, one of the biggest in the world, are the
all-seeing eyes of
Lord Buddha. It is said to have been renovated by
Lichchhavi King Mana Dev in
the fifth century A.D. It is built on an
octagonal base inset with prayer
wheels.
Gokarna Mahadev Temple:
Only a short distance beyond Bodhanath
the sundarijal road turns off from
the Sankhu road and a couple of km of
twists and turns takes you to the old
Newari village of Gokarna, just north
of the Gokarna Safari Park. The
village is surrounded on three sides by the
reserve and is notable for its
fine riverside Shiva temple. Built in 1582 the
triple-roofed Mahadev (great
god) or Gokarneshwar (lord of Gokarna) Temple
stands on the banks of the
Bagmati River and its inner sanctum enshrines a
particularly revered Shiva
lingam.
Day
3 Sightseeing in Kathmandu.
O/night at
hotel
Sightseeing in Patan and Swayambhunath.
Patan:
The ancient
city of Patan is situated on the southern bank of the river
Bagmati and is
about five kilometers Southeast of Kathmandu. The city is
full of Hindu
temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateways, guardian
deities and
wonderful carvings. Noted for its craftsmen and metal workers,
it is known as
the city of artists. The major visitor attractions of Patan
are Durbar
Square, Krishna Mandir, Mahabouddha, Hiranyavarna Mahavihar,
Khumbeshwor,
Jawalakhel Handicraft Center, and Patan Industrial Estate
.
Swayambhunath:
This is one of the world's most glorious Buddhist
stupas. It is said to be
2000 years old and visitors often call it the
"Monkey Temple". The Stupa,
which forms the mail structure, is made of a
solid hemisphere of brick and
clay supporting a lofty conical spire capped by
a pinnacle of copper gilt.
Painted on the four sides of the spire are the
all-seeing eyes of Lord
Buddha. It is three kilometers west of Kathmandu
city. This hill is a mosaic
of small Stupas and pagoda temples. The very fact
that the hillock was an
island when the valley was a lake and "Manjushree"
cut a gorge through
Chobhar by his sword to drain the water from this lake
has his temple near
Swayambhu indicates the importance of this site. The word
Swayambhu means
self-created. There is a large number of monkeys in the area

package,

Introduction:
The most exciting trekking area in Nepal is
situated north of Pokhara,
offering some of the most dramatic close-up views
of some of the tallest
mountain peaks in the world. The abrupt variations in
altitude found here
provides astonishing experience. The summit of Machha
Puchre (6997m) is less
than 30 kilometers from airstrip (850m) of Pokhara
with no intervening
ranges to spoil the views. In fact the views in this
whole area are
fabulous.
The incredible altitudinal range, unusual
geographical and climatic mix make
the trekking in this area a real
naturalist's dream. In less than a week we
move from the sub-tropical areas
around Pokhara to a high Tundra and the
glaciers of the sanctuary.
The
lower area of the range is inhabited by Gurungs and Magars, the
sturdy
Gurkhas of legend. It is the home turf of the three friendly smiling
people
that the famous Gorkha regiments of the British and Indian armies have
been
formed. Pokhara is the main trade center for the whole of this region
where
Gurungs and Newars have inhabited. The return trail follows one of
the
historical and most important trading routes between India and Tibet.
This
journey also forms a major pilgrimage route.

This area, north of Pokhara"Gorepani" offers some of the most
dramatic

The Pun

lined
mountains, the incredible altitudinal range, unusual geography and a
pleasant
climate make trekking in this area a real naturalist's dream. The
return
trail follows one of the most important trading routes between India

old
Newari village of Gokarna, just north of the Gokarna Safari Park.
The
village is surrounded on three sides by the reserve and is notable for
its
fine riverside Shiva temple. Built in 1582 the triple-roofed Mahadev

the
Bagmati River and its inner sanctum enshrines a particularly revered
Shiva
lingam.

Swayambhunath:
This is one of the world's most
glorious Buddhist stupas. It is said to be
2000 years old and visitors often
call it the "Monkey Temple". The Stupa,
which forms the mail structure, is
made of a solid hemisphere of brick and
clay supporting a lofty conical spire
capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt.
Painted on the four sides of the spire
are the all-seeing eyes of Lord
Buddha. It is three kilometers west of
Kathmandu city. This hill is a mosaic
of small Stupas and pagoda temples. The
very fact that the hillock was an
island when the valley was a lake and
"Manjushree" cut a gorge through
Chobhar by his sword to drain the water from
this lake has his temple near
Swayambhu indicates the importance of this
site. The word Swayambhu means
self-created. There is a large number of
monkeys in the area of the hill
which is also a wooded park. You have to be
careful to take any package,
which could be snatched.

Introduction of the tour:
The
southern slopes of Manaslu and Annapurna ranges are heavily settled and
with
terraced fields except the higher regions which support thick forests
of
rhododendron and fir. This is the region the home to Gurungs, Magars and
the
famous Gurkha people of Nepal.
The small terraced fields on the mountain
slopes supporting crops of millet
and wheat, corn and barley and small flocks
of sheep and goats. The Manang
tribes are traditionally a trading race. They
are Buddhist by religion and
Tibetan by origin, and their architecture and
lifestyle are quite different
to other tribes in the southern slopes. This
trekking to the Manang valley
and into the rain shadow of the Annapurna
ranges offers dramatic scenery of
changing color.
We meet Thakalis and
Mustang tribes controlling the busy trading and
pilgrimage trail along the
Kali Gandaki. We also meet Gurungs and Magars
when we move through the gap
between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna into the water
zones.
This is one of
the classic and most rewarding treks in Nepal. On the whole
trek, you will
always have magnificent views of all central Himalayan
ranges.

KONGDE is an unexplored trekking

Everest region. The Valley is about
90 km away from Kathmandu and lies in
the north- eastern part of Nepal close
to the Nepal Tibet border. Kongde,
the newly opened and untouched trekking
route in Khumbu is the most vividly
beautiful trekking route of the entire
Himalayas. This trekking offers you
the most astonishing panoramic view of
Mt. Everest and other Himalayan
ranges of the Khumbu Valley and the
enchanting beauty of the Sherpa
settlement of Khumbu along the Sagarmatha
National Park This region was
declared as the Sagarmatha National park by the
government in 1976 and as a
World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1979. This trek
is ideal for all those who
love the cultural and natural
landscape.
Himalayan Sherpa Adventure is the first to operate trek to
Kongde. This trek
is organized to take you to the heights of the Himalayas
and reveal to you
the scenic beauty of 6 major peaks ranging over 8000mt
including Mount
Everest. Great glacial ridges, hanging valleys, the entire U
shaped Khumbu
valley, fluvial terraces and the mystic beauty of the mountains
are brought
to you on a platter. Beside the scenic beauty of the Himalayas,
you will
also enjoy the live glaciers, glacial lake in Kongde, traditional
Sherpa
customs and the wonderful flora and fauna. The major notable peaks you
can
see from Kongde are the great sequence of Kongde peaks above your room:
Mt.
Cho Oyu (8189m, the entire Thame valley with all the peaks around
Thame,
Sumder Himal, the Rolwaling region with Mt. Pharchamo, the entire
Khumbu
valley below your room and on top of Khumbu valley there are Mt.

to Kongde
(4250m) for 3 nights stay there. In Kongde, we will take you to
the two major
peaks: PHARAK PEAK, which is 4950m tall, to begin with and
then onto SHERPA
PEAK 5050m during the two days halt there. We will also
take you to the
Kongde glacial lake (KONGDE TSO) where the serene and calm
water will
instantly attract your attention.
Although Kongde Hotel meets the modern
engineering standards to the very
last detail, this does not necessarily mean
that it has failed to capture
the typical Sherpa architecture. The
traditional Sherpa building has
succeeded in exuding a warm and mystical
atmosphere that immediately reminds
one of being at the top of the world.
Other hotels that you use in Lukla,
Phakding, Namche and Thame during your
trek are built in typical Sherpa way
but using modern amenities. All the
hotels provide you the rich Sherpa
